History

Optima was lightly shown as a split aged two year old, and was 6th at the Royal Show, and 1st at Surrey County, her only shows. She is breeding really well. Her second calf was Tosca, unbeaten as a yearling in 2003 including 1st at The Royal Show, Reserve Breed Champion at Heathfield and Reserve Female Champion at the South of England. Her most recent daughter, Dosca, was Junior Champion at the SECA calf show in 2009. Optima's daughters are having a real influence in our herd. We are flushing Tosca, her 2002 daughter, and breeding naturally from Ultima (2003), Akita (2005) and Bolero (2006). We have repurchased Sorbonne (2001) on the strength of her outstanding daughter by New sold to Andrew Powell at the Royal Welsh Show, and we will retain Dosca, Optima's 2008 daughter.
