PEDIGREE BULL SEMEN AND EMBRYO SALES
PEDIGREE CHAROLAIS CATTLE
Bob and Fiona Temple, who built up from scratch the famous Rumsden Charolais Herd (dispersed in May 2012), are now based at Saxtead Hall in Suffolk. The facilities at Saxtead include keep for a small herd of cattle, plus a thoroughbred stud, and a purpose built soap kitchen. The Showsoap range has been expanded to include white, cream, yellow, black and a range of brown shades suitable for Simmental and limousin cattle. Semen is on offer from 5 breds: Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, Blue and Blonde. This list is ever expanding with straws from quality beef bulls which we feel offer value to the British breeder.
Our Charolais Mission Statement remains:
TO BREED A MEDIUM SIZED EASY FLESHED COW CAPABLE OF REARING A QUALITY CALF EVERY YEAR FROM A LOW INPUT SYSTEM.

2021 saw the arrival of two bull calves. Heatherden Sylvester, born in March, by Roundill Rocky out of Icedancer, who has subsequently been sold with his dam to a local breeder. And Heatherden Sirocco, born in September, by Goldstar Echo out of Heatherden Minimoo. Sirocco is shaping up nicely and will be for sale at weaning in the spring.
Jan 2020 - Our calving season has been short and sweet - two heifer calves arrived safely within 24 hours. A heifer for Icedancer by Sang D'Or and a heifer for MiniMoo by Doonally Nicefor.
Jan 2019 - Only one calf due this year and we Icedancer has delivered a smashing bull calf by Sang D'Or.
Nov 2016 - Bull Sale - Our only 2016 calf Heatherden MajorTom has been sold privately to a new breeder near Huntingdon.
Nov 2016 - Embryos sold. All our remaining embryos have been sold to two breeders who previously purchased cattle from Rumsden. Looking forward very much to seeing some of these calves in future years.
The long awaited first calf from Derryharney Icedancer has arrived. Sired by Rumsden Samurai it is a bull and has been named Heatherden MajorTom.
13.8.15 - Our first calf of the year arrived this afternoon - a lovely pedigree charolais heifer out of Harviestoun Almond. Even more exciting because she is the first calf of one of our own, Heatherden Interceptor, a lovely bull that we showed to stand 2nd at the Royal Highland Show in 2014. Interceptor is full of Rumsden backbreeding being a son of our lovely easy calving Cruiserweight, and gong back to Rumsden Oolala on the female line, who was mother of Rumsden Samurai that was 1st at the Perth bull sales and sold for 14,000gns. Both of our heifers have been AI'd to Samurai this year. Interceptor was sold back in April to the Gisleham Herd.
