NCBC in Ireland, owners of New, have confirmed today that the bull died last week. Carlisle May 2007 - Another tremendous day for New, perhaps his best ever. He sired the champion, Trefonnen Brandnew, sold for 9,000gns, and also two ET bulls from Mr Evans, Lowerffrydd, which sold for 8,000 and 7,000gns. He was also the sire of Lisenagh Baldur (7,500gns) and Lisnahilta Kallykeel (6,500gns). In all there was 9 sons of New forward, and they all sold to average just under 5,600gns, and gross over 50,000gns. Dungannon - March 2006. The Northern Ireland Beef Bull record was smashed at Dungannon on 4th March 2006 when a son of Doonally New sold for 12,000gns. On the day the top 9 prices all went to sons of New, and these 9 bulls averaged £6802. (overall sale 44 sold to average £3182). Stuart Bothwell from Killadeas sold 4 sons of New to average £7744). New is producing calves with excellent conformation and good size. He is an exceptionally consistent breeding bull., producing quality bulls and heifers. His first son at Perth was 1st and sold for AI use in N.I, where he is breeding well. His second crop at Perth in Oct 02 included 16,000gns and 7,000gns bulls. In 2004 his son, Janos Ubet, was Reserve Junior Champion and sold for 10,000gns to Airdlin. In February 2006 his son Ratoary Viera sold for 15,000gns. New also produced champion and top priced bull at Portadown in 2002, and top priced bull at 10,800gns at Dungannon in 2004. His daughters were Ch. and Res. Ch. Females at Fintona in 2002. In Ireland his son, Kilcullen Ted, sold for 23,000 Euros, a new Irish Record for any beef bull. He sired the Champion Charolais X at the Irish Winter Fair in 2001, and the Commercial Champion at the Royal Dublin Show in 2002. New’s first crops of calves in the UK have included Sarkley Understudy, 8 month old bull calf that topped Chris Pennie’s sale of Lim and Charolais calves at Carlisle in Nov. 2003, selling for 6,500gns, Sarkley Unette, top priced heifer at 3,400gns, and Rumsden Twilight, 5th RASE, and Champion Charolais at National Primestock Show in 2003.
